Waste Management:
Wastebox at the Marienhöfen

900 apartments, 11 recycling centers: At the Marienhöfen, Wastebox ensures transparency and efficiency through digital waste management.

PRESS RELEASE – OCTOBER 2026

From Container to Data Point: Wastebox Digitizes Waste Management at a Major Berlin Construction Site.

At the Marienhöfe project, Wastebox automates waste management processes and centrally documents material flows and recycling data.

Wastebox manages waste disposal at one of Berlin’s largest residential construction sites. Since October 2025, waste at the Marienhöfe project has been digitally processed in approximately 200 disposal operations. Eleven recycling centers enable separate collection on-site; during peak periods, up to 88 dumpsters are in use simultaneously. Recycling rates are reported separately for each building, making it possible to compare the results of individual construction phases. Through wastebox.biz, ordering, scheduling, pickup, documentation, and billing are consolidated into a single digital process. Weighing slips, recycling rates, and disposal certificates are centrally available. A dashboard updated daily displays volume, cost, and recycling data and supports project managers in managing waste disposal.

To ensure proper on-site disposal, Wastebox relies on an experienced local partner: Container-Transport-Service Torsten Lackert GmbH has been operating in Berlin for over 30 years and reliably supports Wastebox with operational disposal.

“For us, resource efficiency begins with our systematic construction approach: Slim, prefabricated elements enable efficient use of materials. At the Marienhöfe, digital processing also helps us keep track of quantities, costs, and recycling at all times and reduce administrative overhead.”

“A circular economy requires reliable data. Only when material flows and recycling pathways are documented in a traceable manner can resources be effectively managed within the cycle and recycling performance be verified.”
